ShareMy Privacy

Privacy built around your device.

ShareMy uses local profiles and Apple's Screen Time technologies to provide shared-device controls on your iPhone or iPad.

This Privacy Policy explains what information ShareMy uses, where that information is handled, and how purchases and support requests are processed.

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Overview

How ShareMy handles information

ShareMy is designed to manage access to apps on a shared iPhone or iPad using local user profiles and Apple's Screen Time frameworks.

ShareMy does not require users to create a ShareMy account in order to use the app.

Local-first operation

User profiles, PIN-related settings, allowances, allowed hours, app selections, session state, and related ShareMy preferences are designed to be stored on the device.

These settings are used so ShareMy can apply the correct access rules for each person sharing the device.

Information Used

Information ShareMy uses to provide its features

ShareMy uses information entered or selected by the device administrator to manage profiles and app access.

User profile information

ShareMy may store profile names, profile icons, profile colors, time allowances, allowed-hours settings, and app-access preferences on the device.

PIN settings

ShareMy uses local PINs to distinguish users and protect administrative controls.

These PINs are separate from the device unlock passcode and Apple Account credentials.

Usage allowances

ShareMy maintains information needed to calculate remaining daily allowance, bonus time, and active session state.

App selections

ShareMy stores the Screen Time app, category, and web-domain selections needed to apply restrictions for global or individual user profiles.

Apple Screen Time

Screen Time and Family Controls

ShareMy uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity technologies to manage access to selected apps and websites on the device.

Apple provides privacy-preserving application, category, and web-domain tokens to apps that use these frameworks.

Why ShareMy needs Screen Time access

Screen Time authorization allows ShareMy to apply restrictions, monitor allowance thresholds, and re-lock managed apps when a user's time or allowed-hours window ends.

If Screen Time authorization is removed, ShareMy cannot continue enforcing those restrictions until authorization is restored.

Usage Information

Screen-time allowance information

ShareMy uses Apple's Device Activity technology to determine when configured usage thresholds have been reached for managed apps.

This allows ShareMy to provide features such as remaining allowance, the two-minute warning, time-expired locking, and allowed-hours enforcement.

ShareMy is designed to use this information only to provide the device-management features configured by the administrator.

Purchases

App Store purchases

ShareMy offers a free trial followed by a one-time permanent unlock.

Payments are handled by Apple

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. ShareMy does not directly process your payment card information.

ShareMy may check App Store purchase entitlement information so the app can determine whether the permanent unlock has been purchased.

Advertising

No advertising model

ShareMy does not use advertising as part of its product model.

ShareMy is offered through a free trial followed by a one-time permanent purchase rather than advertising-supported access.

Support

Information you send to us

If you contact ShareMy Support, you may choose to provide information such as your email address, device model, operating system version, screenshots, or a description of an issue.

Support communications

Information you send directly to us is used to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, and improve support.

Please avoid sending passwords, PINs, Apple Account credentials, or other sensitive information in support messages.

Shared Devices

Profiles are managed by the device administrator

ShareMy may be used by a parent, guardian, or other device owner to create local profiles for people who share the device.

ShareMy profiles are local device profiles and are not separate ShareMy online accounts.

The device administrator controls profile creation, app access, allowances, and administrative settings.

Your Choices

Managing ShareMy information

Edit or remove profiles

The administrator can edit or delete ShareMy user profiles from within the app.

Change managed apps

The administrator can change the apps ShareMy manages through the app's Setup & Protection or user-profile settings.

Disable ShareMy

The administrator can disable ShareMy restrictions from within the app.

Screen Time authorization

Screen Time authorization can also be managed through Apple's device settings.

Third Parties

Apple services

ShareMy relies on Apple technologies including Screen Time, Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, StoreKit, and the App Store.

Information processed directly by Apple is subject to Apple's own privacy policies and terms.

Security

Protecting ShareMy settings

ShareMy uses local administrative controls and Apple platform technologies to help protect access to app settings and user profiles.

No method of electronic storage or software security can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
